FA Cup Quarter Final’s Preview – Part 2 Posted On 20 March 2021

Eight teams battle it out for a place in the Wembley semi-finals this weekend…

Sun 21st March (1.30pm KO) BBC 1

Chelsea v Sheffield Utd

After an impressive campaign last year, Chris Wilder has left Sheff Utd citing major differences with the board, which could be seen in their recruitment last year. No longer the surprise package, Utd look more like relegation fodder, and barring a miracle, they’ll be back in the Championship next season.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea suddenly look like a world-class squad under a manager with more pedigree than Frank Lampard. Since Tuchel’s appointment, Chelsea are back in the top four and rarely concede a goal while their attackers look like they’re finally finding some chemistry.

Predicted result: Che 4 – 0 Sheff Utd

Sun 21st March (5 pm KO) BBC 1

Leicester v Man Utd

Leicester continue to impress under Brendan Rodgers. Currently sitting in third position in the Premier League, five points above Chelsea and only one behind their visitors on Sunday. They no longer look out of place either. They have a young attacking team that holds plenty of goal threats.

Man Utd, as so often has happened this season, have emerged from a slight slump, unbeaten in 14 matches in all competitions, with wins over Man City, AC Milan and a 9-0 thrashing over Southampton under their belts. Pogba returned on Thursday and with a new higher-pressure defensive line, are looking like genuine contenders for the future.

Predicted result: Leic 2 – 2 Man U (Man U to go through on penalties)
