Exploring the Stamford Music Scene Posted On 15 October 2021

Local Bands you need to listen To

Stamford is well known for its picturesque buildings, cobbled streets, and regular appearance in period dramas. It is not commonly spoken about in terms of its music scene, however, nestled amongst the limestone buildings and Collyweston slate roofs lies some hidden talent that needs to be acknowledged.

First up are Electric Soul Club, a gifted young 5-piece function band performing a range of music from old soul classics to contemporary pop. Electric Soul Club’s repertoire includes an eclectic mix of old school soul favourites such as Stevie Wonder and Otis Redding right through to Michael Jackson and modern pop from the likes of Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams and Bruno Mars. With all five members highly accomplished, trained musicians, their live performance is second to none.

Keeping the rhythm and soul flowing are Tailor & Co; a North West trio bringing together the very best of soul, rock ‘n’ roll and contemporary chart hits. This tight and soulful 3-piece band have got the goods to keep any party going late into the night.

The Lost Keys, an ultra-tight group of professional musicians has a wealth of experience that belies their youthful appearance. Specialising in guitar-based pop, covering the likes of the The Strokes, Kasabian, The Libertines, Vampire Weekend, the 1975 and Bastille, these lads often like to branch out from their indie roots, breathing new life into golden oldies.

The final mention must go to seasoned professionals Something Blue – with hundreds of weddings, parties and corporate events under their belts. With every member of the band having studied popular music at degree level, their individual achievements include performances at the London 2012 Olympic games, theatre shows across the UK, Dubai and Singapore.

The band’s repertoire is perfect for anyone looking for a broad mixture of music with a focus on contemporary chart hits – guaranteed to keep guests of all ages on the dance floor. With strong male and female lead vocals together on one stage, the band expertly re-create the very best in popular music.
